You can ask us to change your plan at any time.

You can do this by talking to your my NDIS contact, support coordinator or recovery coach about what has changed.

They will explain what kind of new information we need to help decide if we can make changes to your plan.

To be eligible for the NDIS you must:

  • be an Australian citizen or hold a Permanent or a Special Category visa.
  • be aged between 7 and 65.
  • have a permanent and significant disability.

Applying to the NDIS means doing things to find out if you can become a participant and start getting supports under the NDIS.

There’s a process to follow when you apply to the NDIS. As part of this process, we will need to confirm your identity. Learn more about how to apply to the NDIS.

After you apply, we’ll look at all the information you give us and decide if you’re eligible.

If we decide you’re eligible, you’ll become a participant in the NDIS. We’ll then work with you to create your first plan, which will include funding for any reasonable and necessary supports.

If you’re not eligible, there are other services available to you, such as other government and community services. We can help you connect to these other services.

For children younger than 9, we encourage families to talk to an early childhood partner before applying to the NDIS. They can help families connect to the right supports and let families know if the NDIS is right for their child.

The first stage is to find out if you are eligible for subsidised aged care. This involves a two-part assessment process that understands your needs and what services could help you. It starts with a simple eligibility check, which you can do online or over the phone followed by an in-person assessment.

The first step to access government-funded aged care services is to check your eligibility for an assessment. You can do this online, or by calling My Aged Care to talk about your needs on 1800 200 422 [2]

  1. Consider a provider’s credentials.
  2. Look for providers who will match you with the right support worker.
  3. Ensure they provide supports which meet your specific goals.
  4. Work with registered providers who are communicative.

Location, services offered, and availability are among the first things to research when you are looking for a provider. You should also look for providers who fit your needs, such as your culture, background, faith, or health requirements, and providers who deliver specialised care for diverse needs groups.

It can also be helpful to consider how providers manage their finances — for instance, what they spend on care, staffing, food, and other expenses. If you’re looking for an aged care home or Home Care Package provider, you can find this information on a provider’s profile page in Find a provider.

Use the Find a provider [3]tool to find service providers in your area that meet your needs. Once you have found and shortlisted a few providers, contacting them will help to determine if they are right for you.
